Tips for Planning the Ultimate Outdoor Gathering
Choose the Right Location
Scout out different beach locations to find the perfect spot for your gathering. Consider factors like accessibility, parking availability, restroom facilities, and the size of the beach area. See 30A’s best beaches for your event here.
Check Permits and Regulations
Make sure to check if you need any permits or permissions to host your gathering on the beach. Familiarize yourself with any regulations regarding noise, alcohol consumption, bonfires, and beach cleanup.
Consider Comfort
Provide amenities to ensure the comfort of your guests. This may include shade like umbrellas or canopies, lounge chairs or blankets, and sunscreen. Don't forget to identify the nearest restrooms, too.
Plan for Food and Drinks
Decide whether you'll be catering the event or if you’ll bring your own. If catering, we recommend Graze30A and Gathering Boards 30A for beach-ready options. Opt for foods that can withstand the heat and sand, such as sandwiches, fruit skewers, chips, and dips. Don't forget plenty of water and refreshing beverages to keep everyone hydrated. Glass isn’t allowed on the beach, so consider SALTY Rosé, a luxe rosé packaged in a beach-safe, full-size plastic wine bottle.
Create a Beach-Friendly Setup
Set up your beach area with consideration for the sand and wind. Use weighted or anchored items to secure decorations, tables, and tents. Bring along sandbags or heavy items to weigh down lightweight items that might blow away in the wind. Or go with a SALTY setup where we do it all for you!
Entertainment and Activities
Keep guests entertained with beach-friendly activities such as beach volleyball, frisbee, paddleball, or a beach bonfire. You could also hire live musicians for extra special entertainment.
Leave No Trace
Encourage guests to clean up after themselves and leave the beach as pristine as they found it. Provide trash and recycling bins and consider organizing a beach cleanup at the end of the event to leave a positive impact on the environment.
By following these tips, you can plan a memorable and enjoyable outdoor gathering on the beach for you and your guests to cherish.
